2025 DNOW Info – March 14-16, 2025

Overview:

Parents, I am writing this info sheet to provide some preliminary information about our upcoming DNow weekend. As of the writing of this info packet, I don’t have all of the details ironed out, but my goal is to inform you what the purpose of DNow is and the value it provides for your student. As we get closer to the event, more details will be solidified and passed along.

What is DNow?

DNow weekend is short for “Disciple Now” weekend, and that is precisely what this event is designed to do: disciple your students here and now. This event is best thought of as a “stay-at- home retreat.” The way this works is that over the course of Friday and Saturday, students will attend three large worship sessions with other local churches at FBC Fort Oglethorpe. In addition to that, there will be games and activities that are done as a church group. On both Friday and Saturday nights, they will stay at a host home with other students of the same age and sex. With them at the host home will be a small group leader who will lead a discussion based on the spiritual theme of the weekend and what was taught in the large group sessions. The small group leader is usually an EDGE volunteer (Sunday school teacher, small group leader, etc.) who stays with the students at their host home. Occasionally, we will have the owner of the host home double as the small group leader.

What is DNow’s Value?

DNow is a great opportunity for students to be under the teaching of God’s word and gives them a good opportunity to learn and grow spiritually. We have seen the Lord use this weekend to push students deeper in their faith, bring students to faith in Christ, and create bonds of fellowship amongst the students.

Date/Times/Cost:

• 3/14-16
  o We will meet at FBC Chickamauga on Friday evening to start the weekend
  o The weekend will end AFTER the 9:45 service on Sunday morning
• Cost
  o $50 per student

Expect a more finalized schedule to be out within the next couple of weeks. Once your student is signed up, they will be assigned host homes and small group leaders.
